Superb DanceStars Junior Summer School

Well done to the 34 young dancers who joined our 2017 Junior Summer School...

The dancers aged 7-11 enjoyed 3 energetic days of dance classes which included daily technique lessons in both ballet and jazz as well as workshops in acrobatics, drama and musical theatre. They also had a daily arts'n'craft session to create the scenery and props for their performance at the end of the course. Our 2017 theme was the 'Wild West' and they created a fantastic piece which combined elements of drama, singing, jazz, acro and ballet.

CSBS teacher Sammy taught ballet, jazz and acrobatics while Amanda taught ballet, jazz, drama / musical theatre and arts'n'craft. Senior student Lucy was the course assistant and helped throughout the classes.

At the end of the third day, the children received a souvenir t-shirt for the performance; many thanks to Homefront Signs for completing the order at short notice when let down by another supplier! The audience were greeted by a western town scene with friendly cowboys, gunfights, and bandits, before being entertained by jazz, ballet and singing routines based on the theme. The dancers had made bandanas and indian headbands as costumes, and the hall was decorated with their artwork.

Every dancer was presented with a specially designed certficate of attendance before we got the entire audience dancing too!

Please view a gallery of photos from each day on our CSBS Facebook page - they are a fantastic record of the hard work and fun had throughout the course!
