Advanced students take to the air...!
Our Advanced students started their Easter break with rehearsals, a ballet workshop AND an aerial skills workshop!
Ballet workshop
The Intermediate and Advanced levels students had a 2 hour ballet workshop with guest tutor Kelly McCole. Kelly is a ballerina and teacher with Ballet West and also taught on our inaugural Summer School. The students were assessed during the lesson by a panel of CSBS dance teachers and will each receive an individual report based on their performance with aims and goals for the coming term. It was a great opportunity for them to be challenged in a non-syllabus class and for their teachers to sit back and watch their performances.

Aerial skills workshop
Our Advanced ballet and acrobatics students enjoyed a workshop with 'All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre' which introduced them to skills on the aerial silks and the trapeze. The 14 students discovered that it wasn't as easy as it looks and we all had very sore arms the following day!
They learned the correct grips for both apparatus and learned 3 or 4 poses and moves including how to climb the silks and balancing on the trapeze with no hands. You can view a gallery of photos from the aerial skills workshop on the CSBS Facebook page.
We hope to be able to organise further workshops to develop their circus skills!
Rehearsals for performance with Pasha Kovalev
The Majors students have had a 2 hour jazz dance workshop followed by 3 full days of intensive dance rehearsals in preparation for a performance in the Pasha Kovalev tour. They will be performing 2 medley routines in Falkirk Town Hall on Wednesday 15 April alongside strictly star Pasha and a team of professional dancers. You can view a gallery of photos from rehearsals on the CSBS facebook page.
What a busy Easter break!
