Performance with Pasha Kovalev!
Thirty-eight of our CSBS dance students performed alongside Pasha Kovalev in his 2015 UK tour, "A Life Through Dance"...
The Strictly star is touring the UK with his stunning dance show and we were invited to perform in his Falkirk show! The show at Falkirk Town Hall was a sell-out with an enthusiastic audience of around 520 people, which even included Judy Murray in the front row! Our dancers performed two 7 minute long routines, a Boy Band Medley and a Seventies Medley. The routines were introduced onstage by Pasha who had also given them feedback during their technical rehearsal onstage.
Rehearsals and choreography
The group of dancers started the Easter break with an initial dance workshop with CSBS teacher Amanda to try out the two different styles of dance and to start working together as a team. They then had 4 intensive rehearsals to set the choreography and rehearse the pieces as well as organising costumes before heading to the technical rehearsal at the theatre. At the technical rehearsal they met tour manager Mike Newman and dancer Pasha who took time to speak to them all and give them feedback about their rehearsal before taking the time to sign everyone's tour t-shirt! Performance
The performance was brilliant (with all our spacing issues fixed from the rehearsal!) and the audience were cheering, gasping and applauding as the students danced, flipped, tumbled and hit multiple splits and turns throughout the numbers. All the girls were totally buzzing and they gave an outstanding level of performance. Although we could not record the performance, we do have a great selection of photos from backstage.
