Awards for Excellence 2014
We presented 3 students with Awards for Excellence at the end of 2014 for their outstanding exam results...
The Vicki Paterson Awards for Excellence are annual awards presented to students who have gained the highest marks in their dance exams over the year. The award is named after former student Vicki Paterson who gained a perfect 100% for her RAD Grade 4 ballet exam as well as consistently scoring over 90% in all her dance examinations.
Junior Shield
The Junior Award for Excellence was won jointly this year by Anya Phillips and Ailey Meikle. Anya (10) gained 92% for her Grade 2 ballet exam in June as well as 90% for her Grade 2 tap exam in November. Anya also won the award in 2012 and 2013 for her outstanding exam marks at Primary and Grade 1 levels; she is also a junior associate with both Scottish Ballet and Ballet West.
Ailey (10) gained 92% for her ISTD Grade 1 tap exam in November. Ailey studies ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics and cheerleading and has also gained Distinction for both her Primary and Grade 1 ballet exams.
Senior Shield
The Senior Award for Excellence was presented to Sarah MacNeill. Sarah (17) gained 92% for her Grade 7 ballet exam in the November session and was also the 2013 winner of the Award for her Grade 6 ballet exam mark. Sarah is in Advanced ballet and also studies jazz.
