Christiana steps up to full time training
Advanced dancer Christiana Salaün is leaving us to begin her full time training...
Christiana (16) has gained a place at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts just outside London on their Sixth Form Dance Course. The 3 year course allows talented young dancers to begin their professional training while also allowing them to gain their academic qualifications. The course culminates in a year of pre-professional experience, delivered through the schools own touring company Encore Dance; she will graduate with the Trinity National Diploma in Professional Dance. Tring Park is recognised as one of the UK's top performing arts schools.
A popular and enthusiastic dancer...
Christiana has only been dancing with CSBS for 2 years since her family moved to Scotland. In that time, she has become a popular and successful member of our CSBS family. She has competed as part of our award winning Senior Elite dance team in jazz and hip-hop and gained a place on our Majors programme. She has had exceptional exam success, gaining Distinction for her RAD Grade 8 Award and Intermediate exams as well as her ISTD Advanced 1 tap exam; she gained a scholarship to attend a Tring Park holiday course. Christiana has also represented CSBS at a number of events including the RAD Senior Awards Day and on Live TV as part of the STV Appeal. She most recently danced the role of "Jafar" in our 2016 Majors ballet, 'Aladdin' and won the Millennium Trophy for best overall at our annual Choreography Competition.
We will definitely miss her enthusiasm and dedication in our classes but wish her lots of success as she takes the first steps to a career in the performing arts... And we hope she will come and visit us in Scotland sometime too! Good luck Christiana!
