Flashmob at the Helix Day
Around 100 CSBS dancers took part in a unique flashmob experience at the Helix Park opening...
They performed a Swan Lake inspired dance routine along the pebble beach surrounding the lagoon to an audience of crowds around the park and even in kayaks in the water!
Helix Day
Helix Day was a celebration of the opening of the Helix Park to the public. It is part of a multi-million pound regeneration of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth and includes a cycle and path network, links with the canals and the new park. The day was filled with community arts events and activities with a wide range of sculptures, installations, physical theatre and community flashmobs.
We were also very proud of Neela, Emma and Lucy-May who performed all day as a wide range of bizarre costumed characters with the Conflux street theatre team.
At the end of the day, the community groups came together around a spiral of stones carrying flags created by local school children in celebration of the Helix becoming a part of local life.
Thanks
Many thanks to Alan Potter and Adele Cook for coming to take photos and to Cameron Leask for videoing the event for us too... And a MASSIVE thanks to all the parents who brought their children to take part. We were overwhelmed at the response and delighted that there were students from our Braes, Linlithgow, Grangemouth, and South Queensferry branches all taking part. All our staff took part after a long 7 hours of teaching too. Well done everyone!
