Starshine have lots to cheer about!
Our amazing Starshine Cheer and Dance teams have started the year with great success at Scotcheer!
Both our cheer and dance teams competed at the Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic in Dundee and each won a host of trophies for their performances. It's especially good that for many of the dancers, it was their first ever competition, and also the first for csome of our new grouped teams.
Cheer teams
It was coach Kiera's first competition in charge of the squad and she was delighted with their performance. For most of the team it was their first ever competition and they performed brilliantly hitting all their stunts and dancing with LOADS of energy.
The Junior team placed SECOND and the Youth team also placed SECOND in their category! Great results!
Dance teams
The dance teams competed in group, solo and duet routines winning five first place and two second place trophies! Here are their amazing results:
- Junior Jazz -1st Place
- Senior Jazz- 2nd Place
- Senior Hip Hop- 2nd Place
- Pride of Scotland (includes ALL the dancers!) - 1st Place
- Junior individual jazz- Sarah Firth - 1st Place
- Senior individual jazz- Sarah Leslie- 1st Place
- Senior Duet Jazz- Zoe and Laura- 1st Place
We have a special mention for Senior dancer Amy whose elbow dislocated in a handstand during the hip-hop routine performance. She managed to leave the floor and was aided by both CSBS staff and mums from other teams until an ambulance arrived. She is now beginning a long recovery and we send her a huge group hug!
The teams are now preparing for the UK finals of That's Showbiz next month! Good luck!
