Straight from the West End...
We were delighted to welcome professional West End performer Katie Deacon to teach dance workshops...
Katie has just completed the run of the award winning musical "An American in Paris" in London's West End. She lead workshops with our Senior dancers in both ballet and jazz, teaching some of the original Christopher Wheeldon choreography from the production! It was a great way for the students to kick start their dancing year!
Katie joined CSBS as a student to strengthen her ballet prior to auditioning for full-time training. She went on to train full time at Central School of Ballet and since graduating has performed as a ballet dancer with the National Theatre Ballet of Brno, English National Ballet: Swan Lake (Royal Albert Hall) and National Ballet of Ireland. She moved from classical ballet into musical theatre starring as Jemima in 'Cats' and then 'An American in Paris', as well as a number of smaller video and performance projects.

Please take some time to look through the photos taken at the workshops which give you a glimpse of the fun and hard work:

- Senior Ballet (Inter-Advanced)
Ballet assessment
Our Intermediate and Advanced level students used the ballet workshop as their annual assessment, and a panel of CSBS teacher observed the class. It was wonderful watching the students work hard and thrive under Katie's guidance! The student all received a report on their performance which gives them goals for the coming year.
Many thanks to Katie - you have inspired our dancers and we look forward to following your career!
