Starshine win at Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic!
Starshine truly shone at the recent Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic cheer and dance competition in Dundee...
The 25 strong team aged 10-17, competed as group and duets in Cheer, Hip-hop, Pom dance and Jazz, winning a trophy for every section!
Group dance and duet awards
On the first day of the competition, the cheer squad gained second place for Senior Cheer level 2. On the second day of the competition, Starshine and the Senior team, starshine Elite, competed in the dance sections and won a host of trophies:
- Second place Youth Jazz
- Second place Senior Jazz
- Third place Senior hip-hop
They also had considerable success with their duet performances:
- First place Senior hip-hop - Dayna Lipski and Emma McTeague
- Second place Junior Jazz - Serena McCall and Zoe Young
- Second place Senior pom dance - Kiera Paterson and Mia Musakambeva
- Fifth place Senior Jazz - Eva Dickson and Amber Ibrahim
Pride of Scotland Award
The Pride of Scotland Award is dedicated to the memory of Scotcheer founder Steve Walls. The whole dance team performed a specially choreographed routine to "Auld Lang Syne". The moving performance even received a standing ovation! This is the second consecutive year that the team have been presented with the Award and they were truly honoured.
