That's Showbiz competition success

Many congratulations to our Starshine dance competition team on their continued competition success...

The dancers aged 9-17 travelled to Musselburgh to compete in the Scottish heats of "That's Showbiz", a national dance competition. They competed in a number of sections including:

• Kidz Small Group Classic - 'Halo' (Starshine Youth Jazz)
• Mixed Small Group Classic - 'Listen' (Starshine Elite with Serena and Zoe)
• Mixed Large Group Open - 'Auld Lang Syne' (Starshine dance team)
• Senior Small Group Classic - 'My Immortal' (Starshine Elite)
• Senior Small Group Hip-hop - 'Demand Applause' (Starshine Elite)

All the routines were choreographed and coached by Starshine Coach, Claire McAlister. The overall standard was very high and only first and second places are awarded in each category. We were very proud of their performances and especially delighted that the dancers were awarded first place for "Listen" in the Mixed Small Group Classic category AND highest mark overall in the Mixed age group category above another 17 group routines!

Their win secures them a place in the grand finals in Blackpool in January 2016! We hope to be able to include some of their competition routines in our 2015 dance displays so that you can all see them.
