Choreography Competiton 2026

What an incredible day we had at our 2026 Choreography Competition. We were delighted to host the competition in a new venue, Leonardo Hotel Murrayfield, and to welcome 72 dancers of all ages to take part!

The dancers, aged 3-17 (and 2 adults!), took to the stage to perform 140 unique routines they had created themselves in a wide range of dance styles including ballet, acrobatics, musical theatre, jazz, lyrical, commercial and tap, with an audience of family and friends and a small panel of guest judges. We even had 33 dancers participating for the first time!

LITTLE STARS SECTION

As well as the competitive sections, we loved seeing the “Little Stars” section where we had 7 little dancers aged 3-6 performing, as well as two mums dancing with their daughters! Each dancer received a certificate and small trophy. Very well done them for their really joyful performances!

PRIZES and AWARDS

There were 139 routines performed throughout the day and every dancer was presented with a certificate for each routine they performed. The 195 certificates were presented by CSBS Director/Principal, Mrs Jacqueline Clark. At the end of the day, everyone gathered together for the prize giving ceremony with 186 medals presented as well as additional trophies for highest points in each section!

IMPROVISATION TROPHY

We also held an elimination style improvisation section where dancers of all ages took to the floor to dance without having prepared a routine. It was wonderful to watch them interpret the music! Every competitor received a pin badge. The judges whittled it down to 8 finalists with one overall winner being presented an annual trophy.

  • FAN IMPROVISATION AWARD - Murray Leitch (15)

  • FINALISTS - Amy Taylor (14), Freya Jones (16), Hannah Bain (11), Amy Yates (13), Rose Bertile (12), Evie Kinghorn (10), Peggy Dawson (11)
