RNLI Open Day performance

Many thanks to Hamish Campbell for inviting us to perform at the annual RNLI Open Day in South Queensferry.

The event is held to raise awareness and funds for the RNLI Queensferry lifeboat, which is the busiest inshore station in Scotland! It is a great community event with a wide range of attractions, demonstrations and entertainment. We have been supporting the event for over 10 years and it's always great fun.

Performing in the street...

Twenty-four of our dancers came along to perform some of their dance display routines by Hawes Pier just under the world famous Forth Rail Bridge and with the 2 road bridges as a backdrop! They showed off ballet and jazz routines with a great response from the audience. With only a few dancers from each class coming along, the students rechoroegraphed their routines quickly to ensure they each knew ther space and had a partner when required... Excellent team work!

  • Preschool ballet: Ciara Barclay, Erin Barclay, Harry Fleming, Emilia Goddard, Mia Taylor
  • P1 Ballet / Junior Jazz: Joseph Bowen, Charlie Fleming, Cameron Garmany, Roan Ogilvie, Olivia Ferguson
  • Youth Jazz: Lisa Bain, Laura cunningham, Eve Dignan, Abbie Garmany, Holly Orr, Robyn Smillie, Gracie Stevens
  • Senior ballet/jazz: Sarah Firth, Lucy Guthrie, Rachel Leslie, Sarah Leslie, Laura McTeague, Erin Mitchell, Kirstin Richards, Zoe Young

A special well done to Olivia, Sarah F, Abbie, Sarah L, and Zoe who performed medal winning routines they had choreographed themselves for our annual choreography competition.

CSBS teacher Amanda was unable to attend so the job of 'event photographer' was taken over by dance dad Craig Guthrie who took some fantastic photos, with some additional photos by Hayley and Hamish! You can view a gallery of Craig's photos from the performance on our CSBS Facebook page and watch a slideshow of Hayley's photos below!

Many thanks to Hamish Campbell for his tireless dedication to organising the annual event and for inviting the children to take part and for the lovely letter of thanks we received.
